Carving a lion's head - an alabaster replica of King Ashurbanipal wall panels -link to workshop images

Over a period of twenty-five years my work has covered a spectrum from commissions to conservation, from architectural projects to individual detailed items. For pieces made for their own sake, my inclination is frequently to combine an element of function. More recently I have also been making cast replicas of some of my pieces.

As well as academic and art courses, I studied at the Oskar Kokoschka School of Seeing in Salzburg and learnt stonemasonry at the Building Craft Training School in London. My materials have included many English and French limestones, such as Ancaster Hard White and Lepine, and I have developed something of a passion for Alabaster.
